Greg Wells Biography

Greg has enjoyed photography and oil painting his entire life, and began doing photography professionally in 2006.  While initially studying photography, Greg focused primarily on wild life and macro photography but has since migrated towards photographic montages and abstracts.  This has allowed him to approach photography much as he approaches oil painting.  Many of his montages have a surrealistic or dream like quality to them.

Unlike some montage artists, Greg only uses photographic elements he has taken himself, focusing on good photographic techniques and practices throughout the process.  He considers the software and tools he uses to complete his work secondary to the photographic process itself.  A large percentage of his work contains images from Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.
