  • 24x16 “Memorex dbs 60 minute vintage cassette tape” by Kyle Hellie.
  • The Cassette tape from the 80’s was photographed through colored glass, then more abstraction was added with computer software. The final photograph was then printed and painted by hand to stretched canvas using a squeegee, paint brushes and a mixture of paint and turpentine spray to create melting drips and splatters.
  • This piece of art is included in a series 12 of vintage cassette tape paintings from 2023.
  • Dominate colors are yellow, blue and red.
  • This is a canvas print derived from an original oil painting.

Kyle Hellie is an abstract artist from Denver, Colorado. Kyle achieved a BFA from the University of South Dakota in 2001. Majoring in photography and minoring in graphic design, Kyle took his passion to large abstract oil painting. Kyle’s focus and interests in art revolve around music related themes. Abstract guitars, vintage cassette tapes and paintings of musicians from photographing the Denver concert seen. Many of Kyle’s original works of art can be found on his Instagram page @kyle_style_2001.
