My family and I have always received excellent customer service from this store and location. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was one that stood out for all the wrong reasons. During our visit, we were accompanied by our two children, ages 15 and 12. While shopping, we witnessed an associate by the name of Mr. Gutierrez being verbally abusive toward another associate on the sales floor. It appeared he was upset regarding a sale or issue involving a customer's order. We were only able to acquire his name based off of his business cards on the business card rack. This incident was witnessed by myself, my wife, and our two children, none of whom should have been exposed to such an altercation. Despite being subjected to this behavior, the young lady remained professional, calm, and composed throughout the encounter. In contrast, Mr. Gutierrez continued his outburst before eventually storming off, using profanity while still on the sales floor. This type of behavior has no place in any professional workplace, especially in front of customers and families. It was disappointing and uncomfortable to witness. We have been loyal customers of American Furniture Warehouse for quite some time because of the great prices, friendly employees, and welcoming atmosphere. We have always appreciated being able to shop without feeling pressured or followed. However, this incident left a very sour impression and has caused us to reconsider our future business with the company. Quite frankly, the behavior we witnessed was inexcusable and disturbing. We sincerely hope American Furniture Warehouse conducts a thorough review of this incident for the benefit of its employees, customers, and overall reputation. We also hope the company provides a safe and supportive environment where employees, such as the young lady involved, can comfortably bring concerns to management and have them addressed professionally and privately.
