1-Year Limited Warranty

American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) provides a limited one-year warranty on all new furniture purchases, with the exception of items sold as-is or designated as one-only floor models (see 30-Day Floor Model Warranty below).

The warranty period begins on the date you receive your furniture (the “Warranty Commencement Date”).

For one (1) year from the Warranty Commencement Date, AFW warrants to the original purchaser that the furniture will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the exclusions listed below.

During this one-year period, AFW will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any defective part(s) at no cost to the original purchaser and cover authorized labor costs associated with the repair or replacement, provided replacement parts are available from the manufacturer.

If your item was not originally delivered by AFW, you are responsible for any transportation costs associated with warranty service.

If you request service for an issue not covered under this warranty, you will be responsible for all labor, transportation, and material charges (see Post-Warranty Service below).

Post-Warranty Service (After 1 Year)

1. Manufacturer Warranty Beyond One Year

If the manufacturer provides a warranty longer than one year, AFW will assist in obtaining replacement parts from the manufacturer when possible. AFW’s responsibility is limited to facilitating the replacement of covered defective part(s), provided the parts are available from the manufacturer.

The purchaser is responsible for all labor, service, installation, and transportation costs.

2. Service After Manufacturer Warranty Expiration

If no manufacturer warranty exists after one year, AFW may offer post-warranty repair service for furniture purchased from AFW for up to three (3) years from the original purchase date, for a nominal fee. Service availability depends on our ability to obtain necessary parts.

Customer responsibilities include the cost of replacement parts, labor charges, installation fees, and transportation costs.

An estimated repair time will be provided before you bring in your item; however, final billed hours may be adjusted based on the actual repair time required. Estimates for parts and labor will be submitted for approval before repairs begin.

In-home repair service may be available in limited circumstances for an additional fee. Please contact our Customer Solutions Department to confirm availability and pricing in your area.

All decisions regarding service, repair, or replacement under Post-Warranty Service are made by AFW at its sole discretion.

30 Day Floor Model Warranty (As-Is/One-Only Items)

Floor models and one-only items are warranted against manufacturing defects for thirty (30) days from the Warranty Commencement Date to the original purchaser.

During this 30-day period, AFW will repair or replace defective part(s) at no cost. The purchaser is responsible for all labor, installation, and transportation costs.

After the 30-day period expires, any service will fall under the Post-Warranty Service policy described above.

Exclusions

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or unintended use of the product.
  • Repairs or modifications performed by unauthorized persons or companies.
  • Furniture used in commercial or non-residential settings.
  • Items sold as-is or one-only (see 30-Day Floor Model Warranty).
  • Improper maintenance, including use of harsh chemicals, water damage, pet damage, mold, fabric fading due to environmental exposure, or improper bed support systems.
  • Normal wear and tear including pilling, wrinkling, seam separation, and foam cushion settling.
  • Natural wood characteristics such as knots, cracks, grain variations, color variations, or dye lot differences.
  • Products found to be in unsafe or unsanitary condition.
  • Claims made outside of AFW’s designated service areas.

Any damage must be reported to AFW within 48 hours of receipt of merchandise and must include photographs.

Returns for reasons other than manufacturing defects are subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee (see Returns Page).

All warranties, express or implied, apply only to normal household use. No warranty applies to damage resulting from delivery by third parties or transportation after pickup.

Customers are responsible for issues arising from self-assembly of furniture.
